Fruits and, particularly, vegetables often become an afterthought in our daily diets. The benefits to our bodies, however, are numerous. Eating a variety of color provides the natural forms of vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, enzymes, and phytochemicals that our bodies need to create a strong immune system.

The fiber in fruits and vegetables fills us up, helps to control blood sugar (and mood) throughout the day, and aids in weight and fat loss. Plants contain water which helps to keep us feeling full and hydrate our bodies. This is why at EXOS, we say "eat a rainbow often".

Try to work your way up to eating 9 servings of fruits and vegetables each day. Track your progress by writing down portions of fruits and vegetables consumed in a small booklet or on your phone.
